Kelly’s Humor

Earlier this year I was experiencing an extreme amount of stress in my life. Now, when I get this way, I sometimes have a tendency to swear a bit (hey, I'm just being honest). Well, this particular day was Sunday morning, which, when you're trying to get everyone ready for church and not kill each other in the process, can push any parent to the brink - stressed or not! Anyway, my husband was out of town so I was on my own and not coping very well. Something happened (can't remember what it was) and I lost it and started swearing (A-level swear words like d--- and h---, not the big ones), and my kids got upset that I swore. My 12-year old confronted me and basically called me on the carpet. So I sat down with my kids and apologized and told them it was wrong of me to swear, I cried a little, we had hugs and loves and then went on our merry way to church. So it was fast and testimony meeting at church, and I was feeling the spirit and crying a little. My 6-year old was sitting next to me and saw my tears (doesn't it drive you nuts how you can't cry in church without one of your kids staring at you? I digress - Anyway . . .). He leaned over and asked me if I was crying and I said yes. And then he said, as only a little child could, "Is it because you swear so much?"
