Kerilyn’s Humor

For one of our first ever appearances as Providence during April Conference, we performed at the Ladies Night Event at the downtown SLC Deseret Book location. Each group member had painstakingly selected their outfit, which resulted in some trading around of clothing. I ended up in a wrap-around skirt which belonged to Katherine. All went well on stage; unfortunately, it was after that the problem “revealed” itself. Poised and groomed we visited with guests at the front of the store, hoping to create a good first impression. Soon, the Priesthood session let out and men flooded the mall. It was at this moment the skirt UNTIED itself and fell to the ground. I froze, for I wasn’t wearing a slip! Laurel, our manager saw it all happen and later said she was thinking, “Don’t just stand there, pick it up, pick it up!” Finally I gathered my skirt and my wits about me and raced to the bathroom with the rest of Providence literally behind me. Upon arriving, we laughed hysterically until we all had side aches…so much for first impressions! New Providence rule, double tie all knots in wrap-arounds!
